The Neurofibromatosis
Society of Ontario (NFSO) was founded in 1985. The very first meeting included
members that are still very active today. Dedicated to supporting NF people
and their families, educating the public and medical profession.
The mission
of the NFSO is to support individuals and families affected by NF, to deucate
its members, professionals, and the general public about NF, and support NF
research.
We hold
a bi-annual meeting usually the third Sunday in April and also an annual general
meeting also usually the third Sunday in October. Members and the general
public come from across the province to hear our guest speakers. This is an
opportunity to meet and share concerns, feelings and support each other. We
also provide some social opportunities where people can meet in a friendly,
casual atmosphere; knowing they are accepted and supported.
Through
dedication and ambition we have established a good working relationship with
doctors, clinics and professionals in their field. We have contact with other
NF organizations worldwide.
Our Directors
are always available to help direct you and answer any questions you may have.
